Many people in modern (and not so modern) society dream of owning their own house. And spend a large portion of their lives working to pay for one.

And even though a house like the one pictured here represents far greater material wealth, and "standard of living", than the vast majority of humans who have ever lived — many of us feel that even this level of wealth is less than ideal. Or, at least, the minimum level required to feel normal and successful in life.

I think the reason for that is that so many of us, and this includes myself for most of my life, spend so many hours each week thinking about the things of this world — rather than the things of God.

As Christians, God has promised us far greater rewards than these material things. And we shall enjoy them for far longer than our short mortal lives on this Earth.
