Symbols of Worldly Success
If you can, try to imagine how much just one copy of the Bible is really worth — in the long term — compared to symbols of worldly status and success.
Before movable-type printing technology was developed, a copy of the Bible cost as much as a medium to large-sized house. Which, in today's terms, is several times the price of a Ferrari 360.
They used to literally chain Bibles to large heavy objects inside churches, to prevent people from stealing them. Nowdays, in many Countries you can easily buy your own copy for $10 or less, or read it for free on the internet. In this environment people sometimes underappreciate the value of the Bible. And what a massive blessing it is to have such easy access to it.
